A recent study warns that the capital city of Japan, Tokyo will most likely be hit by major earthquake. Approximately 70 percent of the Tokyo earthquake will hit an estimated strength of up to 7 on the Richter Scale (SR).
According to the seismological studies of the University of Tokyo, the great earthquake will occur within the next four years. The earthquake is estimated to occur in the massive earthquake that struck the region March 11 last.
Still clearly in mind that the SR’s 9.0 magnitude earthquake caused a tsunami that struck 230 kilometers northeast side of Tokyo. The quake was even led to approximately 20 thousand people are reported dead and missing.
Through this latest research, the university found that the number of small magnitude earthquakes of magnitude 3 or higher, up to 343 times within six months after the earthquake of March. That number rose to 47 times that of the previous six months.
Based on the theory, most likely more devastating earthquake that will occur in the current intensity of small earthquake took place. Researchers Shinichi Sakai issued a startling estimate of the earthquake.
“Based on the possibilities that exist, an earthquake reaching 7.2 magnitudes will hit the power within the next four years,” said Sakai.
While different teams precisely estimate, 98 percent of an earthquake measuring 6.7 magnitudes to 7.2 magnitudes would strike Tokyo within the next 30 years.
Sakai said the two studies using different methods to estimate the earthquake. While the government expects to exceed the 7.2 magnitude earthquake will hit Tokyo just in time 150 years into the future.
