Richer Scale 6.3 magnitude earthquake (SR) shook Peru today. Although the quake was strong enough, until now there were no reports of casualties or damage in the incident.
The quake struck shortly after midnight local time. While known to be the epicenter 15 kilometers southeast city of Ica and 280 kilometers from the capital city of Peru, Lima.
According to witnesses, a strong shock from the quake caused buildings in Lima shook. Recognizing the earthquake occurred, the locals ran out of their homes.
While in the city of Pisco, local residents can not enjoy the flow of electricity. The quake seemed to make power outages.
“The shock that happened really scared us. This is the same as the earthquake that occurred on our 2007,” said resident Ica, Blanca Cabanilla.
The city of Ica been hit by a magnitude 8.0 earthquakes SR 2007 ago. The quake left more than 500 people dead and destroyed thousands of homes.
